While my friends and I were up in Monterey for
First City Festival we decided to spend a half day hiking around
Point Lobos putzing around and going on a long and absolutely breathtaking hike - without proper shoes ;). Don't worry, the festival didn't even start on Sunday until the afternoon, so we weren't totally skipping out.

If you haven't visited the California Coast I would highly recommend it, it is one of the most beautiful places on earth, but please, visit in September or October (for the Northern California Coast). We experience "Indian Summers" here, so the fog doesn't really burn off until September and it is just gorgeous through October and sometimes into November.

It was definitely tons of fun - and to boot, we even packed food to make our own sandwiches after our hike. I wouldn't recommend trying to feed a seagull, they are smarter than you. No, really, they are.
